Bachas Beach, Santa Cruz Island
Our last day in the Galapagos began with a beautiful sunrise over Bachas Beach. We enjoyed a quiet stroll along the beautiful white sand.

We were not the only ones strolling along the beach. We found tracks from a sea turtle who had come onto shore to lay some eggs. We also saw evidence of a visit by a shorebird.
There is a small lagoon near the beach which has a variety of shore birds. We saw flamingos, the lava heron, the great blue heron, and of course, the blue footed booby.
Our last day in the Galapagos was filled with the warm rays of the Sun, fresh air, lava flows and sandy beaches, and large numbers of Sally Lightfoot Crabs.
We flew back to the city of Quito to spend our last night before heading home. Not willing to waste an afternoon, we found a really interesting art museum called the Chapel of Man. The work of Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamín is displayed here. Like everything else we had seen in the past several weeks, we found it to be unique and interesting.
After the museum, we stopped to refresh ourselves at Le Pasion del Chocolate. It was a most excellent way to end a most excellent trip.
