Noteworthy Buildings in Delhi

The Presidential Residence, which was originally built as the as the British Viceroy's house, began construction in 1911. The main building, which has 340 rooms, houses the official offices and residence of India's president. The estate also includes 320 acres of gardens as well as residences and offices for additional government workers.

At the opposite end of Kingsway Street stands the India Gate, a national monument to 70,000 soldiers who died between 1914 and 1921.

Heading for Home

Our heads were filled with images of a uniquely different culture that we will not soon forget as we packed our bags and prepared to head for home. Our Indian adventure turned out to be a most memorable experience.
